The Israeli Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that three more Israelis were diagnosed with coronavirus bringing the total number of cases in the Holy land to 15. Eight of the cases were contracted in Italy and the rest were contracted in Israel. Two of the cases have recovered since being diagnosed while the rest are being treated in the dedicated quarantine area at Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv. 

An estimated 70,000 Israelis were ordered into quarantine following inbound flights and it was discovered that a teenager infected with coronavirus attended the Tel Aviv Derby soccer match at Bloomfield Stadium on February 24.

The Ministry of Health asked all those who sat in a specific area at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv to go into isolation. The teen was in the ninth grade so the ministry also told all students and staff members of the school to remain quarantined at home until March 12.

The teen reportedly contracted the disease from contact with an employee at a toy store in the city of Or Yehuda.

Another teen from Brener High School contracted the disease from an Israeli who returned from Italy. Classes were canceled at the school and 1,150 students were ordered into two weeks of self-quarantine.

Italy one of the countries most seriously affected by the health crisis with 79 confirmed fatalities and over 2,502 confirmed cases of the virus.

A deputy principal at an elementary school in Kiryat Ono was also diagnosed. His fifth-grade students were put in quarantine.

The Israeli government banned entry to foreigners who had visited in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and Italy in the 14 days prior to arriving in Israel. The Health Ministry ordered all Israelis who had recently visited those areas to self-quarantine for 14 days.

The ministry also recommended that Israelis refrain from traveling abroad.
